January 2007:
Barbara sent a Christmas note:
Dear Bob,
Today I thought about you. I was reflecting on the highlights of 2006 so far. While I had some memorable moments, there was nothing this year that matched the same sustained joy that I felt at our 40th Friends reunion. What a special experience that was. I was on a high for weeks afterwards. I hope all is well with you and the flying. Have a great holiday season, and my best wishes to you and Donna for 2007. All the best, Barbara
I replied to her note, and in it I tried to describe the feelings that we all had during the reunion. It was frustrating to put it into words, and she replied that "you really had to be there to feel the magic".

Wendy and Barbara at the reunion.

Dear Bob,
I am glad I found you. When I saw the piece on the Scarlet Harlot, I noted the parallel with your Hot Vomit Comet and thought I might be on the right track. Thanks for explaining how to enter our class website.
A biographical piece is beyond me right now, but I can offer the following news items. Use whatever may be of interest.
Like many of us I baked my body many summer days at Jones Beach covered with baby oil. I am now paying the price. The good news is that doctors now can test and tell when the skin is heading toward cancer before it actually gets there. The treatment so far is applying an ointment to the affected areas. I urge others of fair skin to look for unusual growths on your face that stick around and do not go away.
For people who remember my father chaperoning my parties from his living room chair behind the New York Times, he is still of sound mind at 96 years. His weakened heart restricts his mobility, but he lives independently with nursing care.
All the best,
Barbara
