Jon Webster taught me to use a seat belt. He had smashed up his mom's car, and a bunch of us dutifully stopped at Kulzer's to pay our respects. The car was ruined, and it seemed a wonder that he had survived unscathed.
The car had a vinyl bench seat, and Jon found that the only way that he could keep himself behind the wheel in tight turns was to have the belt on. After seeing how it help save him, I've worn one since.
>Jon and Harriet lived over Dave Pratt's garage in the summer of 1966, and I enjoyed visiting them.
