..."In a sad note, I have just read in the Record Pilot that Rick van Santvoord died on Feb. 2. I certainly have a clear memory of his 7 & 8 grade English classes. He was a task master and very few got out of his classes without understanding the structure of a sentence. I am very thankful for his efforts. To this day, I cannot hear the word gerund and without thinking of Mr. van Santvoord.
